Greetings from the Department President
Welcome to the year of the FROG in Mississippi. Wow! This has
been the fastest year that I have ever experienced! The end is
practically here for me, and we are already preparing for next year!
Did we get much done this year? YES! Did our work improve the
American Legion Auxiliary? I PRAY THAT IT DID! You, the Units, its
officers and members have made this a wonderful time in my life.
The support has been outstanding and I love you all for putting
wings beneath my feet.
My theme this year is H.O.P.E., which means "Honor Our Preamble
Everyday." You know, we sometimes get so wrapped up in our Units
and our roles in our Units that we forget the real meaning of what
we stand for. When this happens, we should take a step back,
read our Auxiliary Preamble and understand what it is that we recite
at our Unit meetings.
We are all equal in the Auxiliary - our aims and purposes are to support The American Legion.
There is no "I" in the Preamble, and there is no "Me" in Auxiliary. We are one. That is THE HOPE
of your President this year. Let’s get along - try a little harder - get back to the grassroots - be
friends. It is the bigger woman who takes that first step. Let’s work for the Auxiliary and have FUN
AND LAUGHTER doing it.

serve our Veterans, children and youth, and communities.
