Greetings from the Department President
We just completed our Spring Area Conferences with good
attendance at all three. You ladies have really been busy this year,
and your efforts are very much appreciated. There is one thing I know
for sure, the American Legion Auxiliary is a vital part of our
communities, and the reports I received confirm that fact. Now, if all
the Units around the state that have not sent their Unit report to me
will get them in to me and the other chairpersons, we will be able to
make our reports to National to show the other states that we are
alive and well.
We are fast approaching the end of the 2007-2008 year, and the Presidents and Vice Presidents
for the Districts have been elected for the next year. It was my pleasure to install the Vice
Presidents at the Conferences, and the Presidents will be installed at convention in July. It is a
good time for you as District officers to begin to plan for your year and to show your support for
the incoming officers. No one person can accomplish the aims and purposes of the Auxiliary,
but working together as a team, there will be no end to what you can do.
As I mentioned before, we will have another live auction in July, and if you care to donate items
for that, please let me know as soon as you can. We will need to get things in order for that
event, and we’ll have entertainment also. All proceeds will go to my special project, which is for
children of our brave warriors. Some will be sent to the USO, Gulfport, for the “Parents Reading
to Kids” project that we were told about at Mid-Winter Conference..
For God and Country,
