Army Community Covenant Update

The Community Covenant is a program designed to foster and sustain effective state and community partnerships with the Army
to improve the quality of life for servicemembers and their families, both at their current duty stations and as they transfer to other
states. It is a formal commitment of support by state and local communities to servicemembers and families of the Army--active,
Guard and Reserve.

Since the first Community Covenant signing ceremony in April 2008, 322 ceremonies have been conducted with more than 600
mayors and other community leaders participating. Well over 100,000 Americans have attended the ceremonies. Another 47
ceremonies currently are scheduled and 200+ are in various stages of planning. More details can be found on the "Events" tab of
the Community Covenant's Web site at http://www.army.mil/community/.
