NEC Approves New Changes to Auxiliary Strategic Plan
The “A New Day is Dawning Event” conducted recently in Washington, D.C. was a success! The event allowed participants to
actively engage in activities where their voices were heard, questions were answered and information was clarified on the
proposed Strategic Plan. It allowed all NEC members, and anyone else desiring to attend, the opportunity to embrace an exciting
future.
National President Jan Pulvermacher-Ryan and Vice President Desi Stoy left no doubt that the goals and objectives proposed
outlined what was to be achieved to make the organization viable to carry out its mission. The overwhelming confidence by the
National Executive Committee at the March 30 meeting approved the Mission, Vision and Strategic Plan as presented. Visit

Military Wife Thanks Auxiliary for Coupon-Clipping Efforts
The recent national news coverage of unit members’ grassroots coupon clipping efforts elicited an email from a grateful military
family. Christina Roloson, USMC wife and mother of four, wrote to let us know how coupons helped her family while stationed in
Okinawa 2002-2005:
“When we first got to Okinawa in fall 2002, my husband went straight to Afghanistan two weeks later,” Christina wrote. “That first
paycheck after he was gone was $79. The unit's Admin had made a terrible error. We received many offers of charity and
kindness during this time, but starting at this time, continuing the entire time we were stationed in Okinawa, we made use of the
coupon program. In fact, during one grocery trip, I actually saved $70 in coupons savings during one shopping trip! I cannot
overstate the benefit to our family of receiving these coupons. It is no small deed for someone to sit and clip coupons. It is deeply
appreciated by many of us who have lived overseas, and it is one of the first things mentioned from one spouse to another newly
arrived spouse.”
